Success-Driven Molecular Discovery is the tech and business blog for OpenBench.
OpenBench is a team of scientists and software engineers pioneering a success-driven, collaborative approach to early drug discovery research. First, we work with biotechnology companies to define the experimental profile that will advance a given research program. We then bear the cost and scientific risk of discovering chemical matter that meets the desired profile. If we succeed, our collaborators purchase the promising series and advance them towards the clinic.
This operating model, which we call success-driven molecular discovery, is the lifeblood of OpenBench’s mission to be the most scientist-friendly research partner on Earth. There are a number of interesting features ingrained in the success-driven model. Chief among them is the inherent incentive to build a cutting edge discovery platform to promote the probability of project success in each and every collaboration. After all, if we don’t consistently discover novel, potent, developable chemical series, we won’t get paid and will perish.
We humbly submit that this and other realities of the success-driven model have earned us a unique perspective on early drug discovery, a perspective worth writing about. We hope you subscribe to the blog and enjoy.
